“Bharat is My Home” has been written by Dr. Zakir Hussain. “Bharat is My Home” is an extract(निचोड़) from the speech he gave in 1967 after taking the oath as the president of India. He was born on 8 Feb 1897 in Hyderabad.
At first, he thanks the people of India. Then he assures(भरोसा दिलाते हैं) us that he has come to this office in spirit(मन)of humbleness(विनम्रता) and devotion(निष्ठा). After that he describes his loyalty to the constitution of India and its people and civilization. He emphasizes(पर जोर देती है) the importance of education. It is a main instrument. Without it our nation cannot develop. He wants to do a lot of work for the welfare of its people without the differences of caste, colour, or creed(पंथ). He says that the whole Bharat is his home and its people are his family. He promises(वादे) that he will try his best to make this country strong and beautiful. This speech has an extraordinary(असाधारण) power to express the feeling of Hussain’s speech for India and its people.
