👉 Summary of A PINCH OF SNUFF :
“A Pinch of Snuff ” has been written by Manohar Malgaonkar. He was born on 12 July 1913.He is a well known as novelist and short story writer.
This is family drama (पारिवारिक नाटक). In this there is author (Manohar Malgaonkar) and his mother and many other characters. One day author’s mother says to author that his maternal uncle is coming here for 2-3 days , because he wants to meet a welfare minister (कल्याण मंत्री). Author tells mother to tell his uncle not to come but mother refuses. So author goes to the station to receive his uncle. The name of uncle is Nanukaka. After coming, Nanukaka says to author to take him to the welfare minister, (कल्याण मंत्री के पास ले जाने के लिए) Author takes him to the welfare minister (लेखक उसे कल्याण मंत्री के पास ले जाता है) but Nanukaka could not meet minister. On the way to his home, author meets a person he is Ratiram son of Sohan Lal so who is the head (प्रधान) of party in Delhi. Nanukaka forces to author to fix appointment with Sohan Lal so that he may meet welfare minister. (नानुकाका लेखक को सोहन लाल के साथ मुलाकात तय करने के लिए मजबूर करता है ताकि वह कल्याण मंत्री से मिल सके।) After the meeting with Sohan Lal, Nanukaka knows that Sohan Lal has not good relation with the welfare minister, because he refused to marry his daughter with Sohan Lal’s son. In this discussion he knows that the marriage of minister’s daughter has been set with a son Ninnore Maharaj. (मंत्री की बेटी की शादी एक बेटे निन्नौर महाराज से तय हो गई है).
Now Nanukaka announces that they will visit the minister’s house (कि वे मंत्री के घर जाएंगे). He tells the narrator that they need a large car to impress the minister. For this he calls for a dhobi and uses to trap (फसाया) the manager of sikka Auto Dealers then he takes car to minister. In visitors book he mentions (उल्लेख) himself (वह खुद) the hereditary pundit (वंशानुगत पंडित) to the Maharaja of Ninnore. At last he gave Delhi address where he lives. In the long run the welfare minister himself comes to residence(निवास स्थान) of the writer where Nanukaka welcomes him with respect. This way Nanukaka finally met welfare minister and after that he went back to his home.

The author does not like him. The author thinks that he will stay here for months therefore he will have to face a lot of problems.
The author is an under-secretary and he has been taught to regard a minister higher than God.(लेखक एक अवर सचिव हैं और उन्हें एक मंत्री को भगवान से ऊंचा मानना सिखाया गया है।) Here it is an irony(अपमान,विडंबना) on a politician. He has an impressive personality(प्रभावशाली व्यक्तित्व) with white hair and moustache(मस्टाच). Nanukaka talks with Lala Sohan Lal Ratiram about the minister and old H.B. Sometimes he takes a pinch of Snuff and plays a trick. He meets the Welfare Minister with the trick(चालाकी). At last, he went to his home. After that, the author does not understand the aim of his journey.
