★Summary of The Soldier:
The poem “The Soldier” has been composed by Rupert Brooke. This is a beautiful patriotic poem. It is a nice poem of fourteen lines which is called ‘Sonnet’. In this poem the poet. Expresses his patriotism and emotion (भावना) as Soldier. The poet wishes (इच्छा) that his that body should be cremated (अंतिम संस्कार) in his motherland (मातृभूमि), England if he dies in war. He loves England more than his own life. He prays to god for the victory (विजय) of England. His mind is full of patriotic thoughts, he wishes that water should flow (पानी फेर जाय) which enemies who wish to rule over England through war. Everyone should spend peaceful life (सभी को शांतिपूर्ण जीवन बिताना चाहिए). His motherland like heaven for him.
